Woman Allegedly Kill Her Friend, Attempt Poisoning Her Husband Over Her Adulterous Life

A woman identified as Esther Irawo, who resides at No. 6 Sule Street, Wera Estate, Ikorodu, Lagos State, has allegedly killed her friend, Femi Afolabi in an effort to conceal her adulterous life.

According to reports, Irawo had accused Femi of informing her husband that she he saw her with another man in a hotel and allegedly threatened that he will deal with the deceased for trying to ruin her home.

The father of the deceased, Adeyemi Afolabi, stated that he heard Femi shouting from his room that Irawo was trying to strangule him.

He further stated that nobody made a move because of the level of their friendship.

Mr Adeyemi also said before Femi brough Irawo and her husband into the house, they had been friends.

The mother of the deceased, Rose Afolabi stated that Femi never discussed the issue with Irawo’s husband, she added that somebody else might have.

Mrs Afolabi stated that the suspect carried out her threat by killing her son on Saturday.

A report has it that Femi rented a room in the family house to Irawo and her husband when they had accomodation problem a week before he was killed.

It was learnt that Irawo also attempted to kill her husband, Ezra Joseph through poisoning his food.

According to Punch, Irawo served her husband the food and watched from a distance, but when he did not eat it, she became confrontational.

Report had it that she cursed the husband before she poured the food away and left the baby on the husband’s lap before running away from the house.

Joseph stated that his wife had been living an adulterous life, he further stated that he had followed her to different bars and hotels within Ikorodu on several occasions.

he said his wife thought Femi was the one who reported her extramarital affairs to him.

He added that apart from the few instances known to him, other people in the area also told him about her adulterous life.

He stated, “I went to her shop to take my child to a barbershop. While in the barbershop, I saw her walking past. I called her to tell her that I was in the shop with the boy and that when we were through, I would return the child to her. She asked me to take the child to her brother as she would be going somewhere to see a friend.”

“When she was going, I followed her but she kept looking back; each time she looked back, I hid myself until I traced her to a hotel that is located in a hidden place.”

“I met a policeman, who advised me not to confront her but that I should take a bottle of beer, while waiting for her outside the hotel. I did as he advised. Fifteen minutes later, I saw her coming out of the hotel. I told the policeman to look at her. He advised me not to confront her so that I would not commit murder.”

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Elkana Bala, confirmed the incident.

He said the police were on the trail of the runaway Irawo.

“We have a report of a woman, who allegedly hired thugs to kill her landlord’s son, Femi Afolabi, for telling her husband that he saw her with a man in a hotel. The woman has been on the run since that day. The police are investigating the matter and are on the trail of the woman,” Elkana added.
