Uche Nwosu, the son-in-law to Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha and governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the recently concluded general election, has gone to the election petition tribunal to challenge the outcome of the poll in the southeast state.

Naija News reports that Mr Nwosu, who made this known on Tuesday, blamed the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party for losing the election to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Emeka Ihedioha.

This online news platform recalls that Nwosu lost the Imo APC governorship primary election to Senator Hope Uzodinma. He decamped to AA, where he became the party’s flagbearer for the election

Reacting to the development, Nwosu said APC lost the election when it refused to give him the party’s ticket.

Nwosu noted that the outcome of the election had shown that he was more popular than the APC governorship candidate, Hope Uzodinma.

Expressing hope he will be declared Imo governor by the tribunal, Nwosu said he was willing to form an alliance with the APC and other parties to actualise that.

His words: “The national leadership of the APC made a mistake by not giving the party’s governorship ticket to me.

“We warned them against giving the ticket to Hope Uzodinma, but the leadership of the party ignored our warnings,” he added.
