Ganduje, Others Get Certificates Of Return From INEC

Kano state Governor-elect Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his deputy Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and 27 elected state lawmakers have on Wednesday been presented certificates of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Naija News, however, learnt that 13 members of the state assembly, elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), shunned the ceremony.

The event held at the indoor sports hall of the Sani Abacha stadium in the Kano state capital.

Presenting the certificates of return to the elected officers, the INEC national commissioner in charge of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states, Engr. Abubakar Nahuche urged politicians to always embrace the spirit of sportsmanship.

He also congratulated the winners, urging them to put the people they represent first in their decisions and actions.

Recall after trailing in the March 9 governorship polls, Umar Ganduje went ahead to defeat Abba Kabir of the PDP in the supplementary elections to win a second term as the Governor of Kano State.
