1. Innoson Motors Makes Move To Take Over GTBank

Innoson Nigeria Limited has instituted a move to take over Guaranteed Trust Bank (GTB) following a ruling by the Supreme Court over the bank’s N8.7 billion indebtedness to the company. Dr Innocent Chukwuma, Innoson‘s chairman, made the move through a “Writ of FiFa taken over Guaranty Trust Bank PLC for and on half of Innoson Nigeria Ltd” as a result of the Bank’s indebtedness to Innoson Nigeria Ltd.

2. Nigerians React As Innoson Motors Makes Move To ‘Take Over’ GTBank

A storm of reactions by Nigerians has greeted a move Innoson Nigeria Limited, owners of Innoson Motors, to take over Guaranty Trust Bank, GTB, following a ruling by the Supreme Court over the bank’s N8.7 billion indebtedness to the company. 3. GTBank Vows To Stop ‘Illegal Or Fraudulent Execution’ By Innoson Motors

Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) has vowed to take all necessary legal steps to ensure that no illegal or fraudulent execution is carried out by Innoson Motors, with whom it has a long-drawn-out court case. Naija News had reported earlier that Innoson Nigeria Limited announced on Friday, March 29, that it obtained a writ of Fifa from the Federal High Court in Awka, Anambra State, against GTB to effect the judgment given by the Federal High Court in Ibadan and upheld by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

4. Buhari Reveals How Nigeria Will Be After His Tenure

President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed the state at which he will leave Nigeria after the expiration of his tenure in 2023. Buhari on Friday, March 29 made the vow to complete his tenure as Nigeria’s president and to leave the office of the Nigerian Presidency better than the way he met it.

5. Wike Bans Public Protest In Rivers State

The Rivers State Government led by Governor Nyesom Wike has banned public protest in the oil-rich state. Naija News reports that the protest was contained in a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information, Emma Okah.

6. President Buhari Gets Minimum Wage Bill From The National Assembly

The National Assembly has transmitted a clean copy of the passed new minimum wage bill to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent. President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ayuba Wabba, made the disclosure on Thursday at the opening ceremony of the 10th National Delegates Conference of the Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria, (MHWUN).

7. APC Describes Wike’s Ban On Protests As ‘Absurd’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has described as “ineffectual” the ban on public protests in the state by the Rivers State government. Naija News reports that the government announced the ban, said it was with “immediate effect” and meant to protect public peace and safety.

8. Brexit Deal: British Lawmakers To Vote For The Third Time

MPs are set to vote for and against Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit divorce deal, which could end months-long crisis or risk Britain crashing out of the EU in two weeks. Naija News reports that the House of Commons has twice rejected May’s withdrawal agreement, both times by large margins, but has been unable to agree on any alternative — and time is running out.

9. Artists To Converge Over Peace Concert

Artistes will on Sunday, April 28 converge for a peace concert organized by Reel Laif Entertainment, Saiko Global Concept and other influencers. Popular Nigerian entertainer, Julius Agwu revealed this on Friday when he said with the recently concluded electioneering period which had heightened tension and polarised the inhabitants “it became pertinent to create atmosphere filled with entertainment where everybody can come together, relax and forget their differences.”

10. Nigeria Climbs In Latest FIFA Ranking (Full list)

Nigeria on Friday climbed to the 38th position in the latest FIFA women’s world rankings released on the FIFA official website. The Super Falcons maintained their position as number one in Africa after amassing a total of 1,599 points and moving just one spot upwards from their previous 39th position on the 155 team rankings.
