Protesters consisting of All Progressive Congress(APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters were dispersed with tear gas by a team of police operatives on Friday.

This is after the APC had described the state Governor Nyesome Wike‘s order as absurd, Naija News reports

The police had stormed the Polo Club axis of Port Harcourt, where both supporters had gathered.

It was gathered that the PDP supporters were angry that their counterparts in the APC disregarded the no-protest directive of Governor Wike, and planned to move to the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

One of the protesters, who identified himself as Oruwari, said there would have been a clash between the PDP supporters and their counterparts in the APC if the Police had not dispersed the crowd.
