Senator Shehu Sani (PRP-Kaduna Central) reacted to the endorsement of Senator Ahmad Lawan by All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari for the Senate Presidency.

APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, had mentioned that his party won’t share the leadership of the next National Assembly with the main opposition.

Oshiomhole, at a dinner with President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Rock and senators-elect, informed the Senators-elect under the party, that Lawan was their choice for the Senate Presidency.

But Senator Ali Ndume (APC-Borno South) faulted the decision of Oshiomhole, to adopt Senate Leader, Ahmad Lawan, as the Senate President of the Ninth Assembly.

Reacting in a post on his Twitter handle, Shehu Sani said candidates endorsed by “president and executives hardly win”

Sani said: “Candidates openly endorsed by the executive for legislative positions in the parliament can hardly win if its a secret ballot system adopted for voting.”
