Video: Popular Nigerian Prophet Sends ‘Strong Warning’ To El-Rufai

The General-Overseer of Mountain of Miracles and Liberation Ministries a.k.a Greater Liberation City, Pastor Chris Okafor, has warned Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, northern Nigeria, to avoid persecuting Christians and preachers in the state or risk the wrath of God.

Naija News reports that the clergyman’s warning to the Governor was in reaction to a bill at the state House of Assembly which seeks to license religious bodies. Apparently displeased with the bill Pastor Okafor fondly called “Talk and Do”, gave El-Rufai seven days to reverse bill or he would be visited by God. Naija News understands that the bill proposes that any person found guilty of preaching without a valid licence and other offences under the law “shall be liable to two years in prison or pay a fine of N200, 000.”

INEC Suspends Presentation Of Certificate Of Return In Zamfara State

The Independent National Electoral Commission has reacted to ruling of the Appeal Court judgement on Monday which nullified the participation of the All progressives Congress in the Zamfara State election.Recall that Naija News reported that the Appeal court sitting in Sokoto led by Justice Tom Yakubu on Monday set aside the judgement of the Zamfara High Court on the primaries of APC that produced the party’s candidates for the general elections.

INEC which took to its official Twitter account stated that it has suspended the presentation of Certificates of Return for the Zamfara Governorship and State House of Assembly elected candidates. “INEC has been served with the judgment of the Court of Appeal Sokoto concerning the sponsoring of candidates by the APC in Zamfara and is studying same.”

Finally, Buhari Endorses Lawmaker For Senate Presidency

Ahmad Lawan is the favourite for Senate President – courtesy of his “rich legislative experience” and character. President Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and most APC governors have endorsed the Senate Leader after consultations.

The leaders were said to have considered Lawan’s “qualifications, prudence, accountability, loyalty and rich legislative experience” which will assist the APC government to have a robust Executive-Legislative relationship to fast-track development. Rivers Election: AAC Gov Candidate Makes Strong Allegation Against Wike

The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Rivers State, Biokpomabo Awara, has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of offering him N3 billion to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking to newsmen on Tuesday, he denied claims by his erstwhile deputy candidate that the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and the All Progressives Congress (APC), forced them to sign post-dated resignation letters.

National Assembly Leadership Is Not The Property Of Any Party – PDP Fires Back At APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says its elected senators and members of the House of Representatives are constitutionally eligible and can seek election into any presiding office of both chambers of the National Assembly.The party made the declaration in a statement on Tuesday, signed by its National publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan.

The statement seems to be a direct response to the position of the ruling All Progressives Congress that its members would control the leadership of the 9th national assembly. FG Commences 2019 Census in Schools

The Federal Government has commenced the Annual School Census (ASC) for schools in the 36 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. Naija News reports that the ASC commenced simultaneous commencement of the enumeration of all schools, pupils, teachers and facilities in the Basic and Post Basic School levels.

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, made this known in a statement where he also said mobile technology would be used for the exercise to generate credible, reliable and timely data from remote site/schools in the 36 states and the FCT.
In his statement, Adamu said: “This is an important event in the ASC cycle which signals the simultaneous commencement of the enumeration of all schools, pupils, teachers and facilities in the Basic and Post Basic School levels and the introduction of mobile technology to generate credible, reliable and timely data from the remote site/school in the thirty-six (36) States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), for enhanced educational planning and research, decision-making, national and global reporting.

Court Finally Strikes Out Law Suit Against JAMB

A suit filed against the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has been struck out by the National Industrial Court yesterday after the claimant failed to prove that his dismissal was unlawful.Naija News understands that the Suleyman Sanni, the claimant had approached the court to declare his dismissal unlawful and sought for reinstatement, payment of his salaries and entitlements.

Sanni said that he wasn’t given the chance to speak before his dismissal and at such the terms and conditions of his service contained in his employment letter had been breached.Sanni told the court that due process of fair hearing was not accorded him before his dismissal, and therefore, the terms and conditions of service as stated in his employment letter were breached.

Delivering judgment, Justice Rakiya Haastrup said that the inability of the claimant to tender his letter of employment as material evidence of fact to determine whether or not his dismissal was unlawful had truncated his case, NAN reports. Haastrup said that the inability of the claimant to present the employment letter made it difficult for the court to determine how the defendant breached the terms and conditions of his employment.
