1. Simon Lalong Re-elected As APC Wins Plateau (Full Results)

Governor Simon Lalong, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, has been reelected governor of Plateau state. Naija News reports that the ruling party polled 583,255 votes while PDP had 538,326 votes in Plateau in the March 9 election.

2. Kano Rerun Election Turns Bloody (Photos)

Lives have been confirmed to have been lost while several others have been left with various degrees of injuries during the Kano rerun election. Naija News reports that the election turned bloody after some suspected political thugs invaded some polling units in the state.

3. INEC Collation Officer Shot In Benue

The collation officer for Gboko local government area of Benue state, north-central Nigeria, Comfort Dooshima, has been shot by unknown gunmen. Naija News learned Dooshima was attacked on her way to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) head office in Markurdi, the state capital, on Saturday night.

4. Kano Rerun : PDP Condemns Reported Attack On Agents And Members In Kano State

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the reported attacks on its agents and members during the supplementary elections in Kano State. Naija News learnt that the party made the allegation in a statement on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has hailed the declaration by an election tribunal, of Ademola Adeleke as the governor-elect of Osun State, saying INEC’s earlier ruling against him was a “desperate attempt to change the will of the Osun people”. Naija News learnt that Obasanjo also condemned those urging Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in last month’s presidential election, not to go to court. He said such calls were coming from the “enemies of Nigeria” and those seeking to intimidate Nigerians by threatening violence.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the APC, Adegbuyi Olajuwon, winner of the Ekiti East LGA Constituency 1 supplementary election. INEC Returning Officer, Dr. Chika Asokwa on Saturday’s evening declared the winner of the election.

8. INEC Declares APC Winner Of Lagos Assembly Rerun Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mojeed Fatai, winner of the rerun election for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly. The returning officer for the exercise, Professor Rasheed Ojikutu, declared Fatai winner on Saturday.
