The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has hailed the people of Sokoto State for re-electing Governor Aminu Tambuwal.

Naija News had reported that candidate of the PDP’s Tambuwal was declared the winner of the governorship election in the state.

Tambuwal won with a slim margin after collation of results from 22 Local Governments Areas (LGAs), where the supplementary election took place.

The Governor polled 512,002 votes to defeat Ahmad Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who came close behind with 511,661, losing to his erstwhile principal with just 341votes.

Reacting in a post on Twitter, Atiku wrote: “I congratulate His Excellency, Governor Aminu Tambuwal on his re-election and I assure the good people of Sokoto state that they have made the right decision that will see them continue on the path to peace, progress, and prosperity.”
