Election Begins In Kano Re-run

The Kano Re-run election has commenced in various polling units in the state as early as 8 am.

According to Daily Trust, election materials have been deployed to the affected polling units in time.

Security personnel were also deployed to the areas where the re-run election is holding, Our reporter observed.

However, there is tension and fears among electorates in Gama ward where the two major contenders Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are expecting more votes.

Gama, a densely populated ward has over 40,000 registered voters.

Reports indicate that political thugs have already taken over the area, thereby intimidating both voters and electoral officers.
