Ahead of the supplementary election, the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has expressed hope of winning in the Saturday election.

INEC is set to hold a supplementary election after the governorship election in the state was declared inconclusive following the margin of the winner which was lesser than the cancelled votes.

The supplementary election is expected to hold in the affected states on Saturday, March 23, Naija News reports.

While speaking ahead of the election he revealed that he needs “just 2,000 votes, out of 49,000, to secure victory”.

“We have 49,000 registered voters in the places that the election will be conducted and I am already ahead with more than 44,000 votes.”

“I don’t see anything stopping my victory,” he said.
