Breaking: EFCC Parades Okorocha To Court

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has slammed Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State for saying the commission will organise a special programme for him.

INEC stated that anyone thinking it would organize a special ceremony to issue them their Certificate of Return will be living in fool’s paradise.

The commission made this known while responding to questions concerning Okorocha, through Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, INEC’s director of Voter Education and Publicity, who appeared on Channels TV.

Osaze-Uzzi said there would be no such preparation for anybody whose name did not appear on its list of successful candidates in the 2019 general elections.

“There is no special ceremony for anybody. I think we should get that one quite clear. Anybody thinking otherwise will be living in fool’s paradise,” he said.

Naija News recalls that Okorocha was declared the winner of the Imo West senatorial election.

However, the presiding officer later disclosed that he was forced to make the declaration.

Governor Okorocha who was left out of INEC’s list of successful members of the 9th senate, had told reporters: “Maybe INEC wants to organise a special programme for me to hand over the certificate to me but clearly, I’ve won and it was a peaceful election.”
