Former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode has bemoaned the lack of international media attention to killings occurring in Nigeria.

Naija News recalls that at least forty-nine people have been killed and many others injured as terrorist carried out shootings in two mosques in New Zealand city of Christchurch.

The two mosques were full of worshippers who came for the Friday prayers before gunmen carried out the mass shootings.

The killing of the worshipers has drawn wild spread condemnation and media coverage.

In a post on his Twitter page on Saturday, Fani-Kayode stated that the daily casualties across central Nigeria exceed that of the attacks on Muslim communities across the entire Western world.

He wrote: “There were more attacks on Christians in S. Kaduna today with many innocent people killed and their homes burnt.

“The daily casualties across central Nigeria exceeds that of attacks on Muslim communities across the entire Western world -yet the New Zealand shootings seem to have garnered more attention and concern in one day than the genocide in central Nigeria has been able to do in many years.

“Why is this so? Are we not human beings too? Terrorism, genocide, mass murder and ethnic cleansing are daily occurrences in Nigeria yet the world remains silent.”
