BREAKING: Associates Storm Court To Witness Verdict On N96b Fraud Case Against Amaechi

Chidi Lloyd, an ally of Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of withdrawing his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had suspended the governorship and state house of assembly elections indefinitely, citing “widespread disruption“.

However, Lloyd, director-general of the campaign organization of Tonye Cole, governorship candidate of the Amaechi faction of the party, accused Buhari of abandoning APC party members in the state “when they needed him the most.”

This Lloyd said while he was speaking as a guest Channels Television’s Politics Today, alleging that the state’s election results were falsified till the exercise was suspended because Buhari showed no interest in the state’s politics.

“The party is being treated like this in the state because of our support for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and unfortunately for those who supported the president, he has turned his back on us,” he said.

“We are in the pains, we are in pains to watch President Buhari do this to us… President Buhari should open up a probe into the activities of INEC.”

The APC chieftain also accused the electoral body of using “well known PDP fellows as collation officers in the state.”
