The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, is currently leading in the 11 local government areas already announced by the state Returning Officer, Prof. Francis Otunta.

According to reports, Okowa is leading with 70,00 votes having scored 128,732 while his closest rival, Uche Nwosu of Action Alliance scored 66,852 and the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress Grand Alliance scored 37,107.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Hope Uzodimma scored 27,331 while the Accord Party candidate, Ihedi Ohakim scored 2,047.

The result declaration was disrupted by some party agents at 5 am this morning.

PDP agent had raised allegation that only AA signed the result for Ideato South LGA, he alleged that other agents were chased away by the Rochas Okorocha agents and election results were switched.

Onyeagocha questioned the results and insisted that the result should not be presented.

He stated that a petition has been raised by the party and submitted to the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Francis Ezeonu, immediately the incident happened, noting that the REC confirmed the development from the returning officer for the local government.

Onyeagocha hijacked the election results sheets and tore it when the returning officer was speaking on the petition.

Asinobi and Onwukaike also scattered the remaining results and threw the atmosphere into confusion.

Onyeagocha, Asinobi and Onwukaike were arrested while the electoral officers were taken out of the hall by security agents.
