Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Sends 'Strong Warning' To INEC Over Rivers Guber Poll, Others

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), that doctored results imposed against the will of the people will be resisted.

Naija News reports that the IPOB leader gave the warning on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Sunday night.

Kanu also expressed disappointment over the “disturbing reports from Rivers, Imo and Abia governorship elections”.

This online news platform understands that Kanu made this statement a few hours after INEC suspended all elections in Rivers state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigeria’s electoral umpire, has suspended all elections in Rivers State, south-south Nigeria, “until further notice”.

Naija News reports that the Commission made this known in a statement issued on Sunday afternoon by Festus Okoye, INEC Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee.

Okoye based the commission’s decision of “widespread disruption of elections” in the governorship and state house of assembly elections held on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

This online news platform understands that the development came following a meeting of the Commission which held on Sunday.

Reacting, Kanu warned that any government formed on the basis of a fraudulent result will bring anarchy

The secessionist leader stressed that “cancellation is the only solution”.

“With disturbing reports from Rivers, Imo & Abia governorship elections, we warn INEC that doctored results imposed against the will of the people will be resisted.

“Any government formed on the basis of a fraudulent result will bring anarchy. Cancellation is the only solution,” Kanu added.
