One of two black box recorders on the Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 that crashed just outside Addis Ababa Sunday, killing all 149 passengers and eight crew has been discovered.

Investigators recovered the black box on Monday according to Ethiopian state media.

As earlier reported by Naija News, the plane took off at 08:38 (05H38 GMT ) from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and lost contact six minutes later.

The flight was scheduled to land in Nairobi around 10:30 am (0730 GMT ) but ran into a hitch almost immediately after takeoff which eventually resulted in the fatal crash.
