The Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom has cast his vote in the ongoing governorship and state houses of assembly elections taking place in the country.

Naija News Understands that shortly after casting his vote at his at Nzorov ward, polling unit 003 in Benue state, Governor Ortom who is seeking a re-election, said victory belongs to God.

On the electoral process so far, the governor commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on the smooth electoral process so far but lamented the security challenges in a fraction of the state, especially where INEC materials at RCM Primary School, Aya, Mbalom ward in Gwer east local government area were set ablaze by suspected hoodlums.

According to him, “Victory belongs to God and I trust in God for victory.

I have head of the burning of inec materials in one poling unit but trust the security is on top of the situation.”

Meanwhile, Gunmen set electoral materials on fire in Guma, Gov. Ortom’s village

Naija News learnt that the hoodlums on arrival fired shots in the air before setting on fire the RCM Primary School Aya, housing the materials.
