2023: APC, PDP Should Zone Presidential Tickets To South East - Uzodinma

In Ogun State, a former member representing Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi-Owode constituency in the House of Representatives, Jelili Amusan, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

Amusan made his defection known his residence in Ibara, Abeokuta, the state capital.

In a statement, he explained that he decided to leave his former party with his supporters after much deliberations and the desire to live a peaceful life, which he said he had been long denied during his years in politics.

The former lawmaker noted that his defecting to the APC would boost the chances of the party’s candidate, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to win by a landslide in today’s governorship election in the state.

Further, Amusan urged the electorate to desist from making unnecessary demands from those who signified interest to serve them.

Meanwhile, Naija News reports that many political parties have given their support to APC’s Abiodun and others, including the PDP’s Ladi-Adebutu faction, has thrown their weight behind Abdulkabir Akinlade of the Allied Peoples Movement in the state governorship race.
