Live Update: Adamawa State 2019 Governorship Election

Adamawa State this year has 28 candidates contesting for the governorship seat; a first of its kind in the state. Interesting to note also is that four female candidates joined the race for the seat.

However, the major contenders are Incumbent governor, Adamawa Governor Muhammadu Jibrilla; although his emergence as the flagbearer generated a lot of controversies, and his opponents within the APC had already threatened to support one of the opposition parties should the APC national party fail to cancel the election.

PDP’s, Ahmadu Umaru Fintii who served as acting governor of the state for 49 days. His reign is popularly described as the ‘ATM’ government because he cleared the backlog of salaries that the workers were being owed.

Other major contenders are the ADC candidate, Senator Abdulaziz Nyako and Emmanuel Bello of the SDP.
