1. EFCC arrests Atiku’s campaign deputy DG

The Deputy Director General (Admin) of Atiku Campaign Organization, Barr. Tanimu Turaki (SAN), has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, has said.

Naija News reports that the opposition party made this known in a statement issued on Monday night by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan.

2. CBN Governor, Emefiele allegedly asked to leave office

A letter by the Federal government of Nigeria on Monday has allegedly been sent to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)’s governor Godwin Emefiele, asking him to proceed on leave as his tenure expires soon.

According to the letter, the leave takes effect from today, Monday.

3. PDP submits petition challenging Buhari’s election victory

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus, has revealed that the party’s legal team for the presidential election will file its petition soon.

He disclosed this while speaking at the PDP expanded National Caucus meeting in Abuja.

The PDP National Chairman accused INEC and the security agencies of compromise and direct interference in the presidential and National Assembly elections.

4. Why we arrested Atiku’s son-in-law – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has finally spoken on why they arrested the son-in-law of Atiku Abubakar, Babalele Abdullahi.

According to the anti-graft agency, Abdullahu is been investigated over an alleged N61 billion money laundering case.

5. Court sacks PDP candidate from contesting governorship election in Kano State

A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has nullified Peoples’ Democratic Party Guber Candidacy for not conducting primaries, Naija News understands.

Federal High Court Judge, Ambrose Lewis ruled that the purported nomination of Abba Kabir as Governorship Candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party PDP is invalid.

6. Amosun, Okorocha, others remain suspended – APC insists

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday maintained that Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and his counterpart in Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, remain suspended.

Naija News recalled that the National Working Committee had after a meeting presided over by the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, in Abuja on Friday announced their suspension for alleged anti-party activities.

7. NYSC opens portal for 2019 batch A online registration

The management of the National Youth Service Corps, has announced the commencement of online registration for prospective 2019 batch A corp members.

The registration exercise which commences on Monday, 4th March, will run through Tuesday, 19th March 2019.

8. ‘Wike must go’ protest rocks Port Harcourt ahead governorship election

A protest tagged “Wike Must Go” held on Monday in Port Harcourt, the River State capital.

Naija News reports that the protest which is aimed at making the State Governor, Nyesom Wike, leave his position as the governor, is coming five days to the governorship election.

9. Atiku breaks silence on the arrest of his son-in-law by EFCC

Atiku Abubakar, the 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says the continued detention of his associates by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is politically motivated.

Atiku said this in reaction to the arrest of Babalele Abdullahi, his son-in-law, and Uyiekpen Giwa-Osagie, his lawyer, by the EFCC.

10. Why APC suspension is a distraction – Amosun

Governor Ibikunle Amosunof Ogun State has described his suspension by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a distraction.

Naija News had reported that Amosun was suspended over alleged “anti-party activities”.
