Pastor Commits Suicide After Killing His Wife

There has been a twist in the story surrounding the death of a Malaysian CEO who died last year.

The widow of the deceased and teenage stepsons were on Monday charged with his murder.

The deceased, Nazrin Hassan was the chief executive of Cradle Fund, a Malaysian firm that is an agency of the finance ministry and invests in start-ups.

The report around his death revealed that he was killed at his house outside Kuala Lumpur in June last year after his mobile phone exploded and started a fire.

After further investigation, the fire and rescue department discovered traces of petrol at the scene, and the cause of his death was reclassified as murder.

Hassan’s wife, Samirah Muzaffar and her two sons from a previous marriage, age 13 and 16 were arrested on Monday.

They were brought before a magistrates court outside the capital and were charged with murder.

No pleas were taken and the magistrate ordered the case be transferred to the High Court.

A fourth person, an Indonesian woman reported to be the family’s maid, was also charged in absentia with murder.
