1. IBB Congratulates Buhari, Tells Atiku What To Do

Former Military President Ibrahim Babangida has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the February 23 Presidential election. Babangida fondly called IBB also called on Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last election to work with President Buhari for the development of the country.

2. Atiku Inaugurates Legal Team To Tackle Buhari, APC

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has constituted his legal team to challenge the result of the presidential election. In a statement sent to Naija News on Saturday, the team is headed by Dr Livy Uzoukwu (SAN).

3. Our Staff Were Abducted, Raped During Election – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigeria’s electoral umpire, says some of its staff were abducted and raped during the February 23 Presidential and National Assembly elections. Naija News reports that INEC commissioner for information and voter education, Festus Okoye, made this known in a statement on Friday, March 1.

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Theresa May and Turkish President, Tayyip Erdogan have finally reacted to the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari. Naija News reports that the UK and Turkey representatives on Friday joined other world leaders in congratulating President Muhammadu Buhari on his victory in Feb. 23 presidential election.

5. Police Service Commission Gives Reasons For Inability To Secure Elections Effectively

The Police Service Commission (PSC) says lack of inadequate personnel of security agencies and lack of necessary logistics were the reasons for the inability to secure last elections effectively. Naija News reports that the Presidential and National Assembly elections which took place last Saturday, February 23, were marred with violence across the nation.

6. PDP: We Insist On People’s Mandate, Atiku Never Made Demands To Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied making any demands of the President, following his declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the Presidential election. In a statement, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, accused the Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of an attempt to blackmail the party.

7. Bandits Kill 29 People In Fresh Zamfara Attack

The Zamfara State Police Command has confirmed that at least 29 people have been killed and several others injured after armed bandits attacked a community in Shinkafi Local Government Area of the State. The attack is said to have occurred on Thursday, February 28, 2019, but the information about it was not made public until Saturday.

8. Atiku Abubakar’s Son-In-Law Arrested By EFCC

Alhaji Babalele Abdullahi, the son-in-law of the presidential candidate of the 2019 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has been arrested on Saturday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Abdullahi, who also serves as the finance director of Atiku’s group of companies was arrested at his Maitama residence in Abuja.

9. Strange Illness Attacks Another Popular Actor, Begs Nigerians For Help

A video that shows that another veteran Yoruba actor is currently ill and has been hospitalized has surfaced online. This is coming after Naija News had reported that a popular veteran actor and comedian, Baba Suwe is currently undergoing health challenges.

10. Federer Wins 100th ATP Title In Dubai

Roger Federer won his 100th career title on Saturday when he defeated Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 6-4 in the final of the Dubai Championships. Naija News Understands that the Swiss star is the second man to achieve the feat after America’s Jimmy Connors who ended his career with 109 titles. Federer’s first ATP title came at the Milan Open on 4 February 2001, when he beat Frenchman Julien Boutter.
