1. INEC declares Buhari winner of 2019 presidential election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has on Wednesday declared the incumbent president and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari as winner.

Naija News reports that the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, declared this during the early hours of Wednesday, around 4:39am precisely where he announced the results that showed that Buhari defeated his counterpart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar with a large margin.

2. Atiku heads to court over Buhari’s election victory

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, Atiku Abubakar, will not concede the presidential election to President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announced the final Presidential election results recorded in various states in the country on Wednesday morning.

3. President Buhari meets El-Rufai in presidential villa

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai at the State House.

The presidency made this known in a post on its Twitter handle @NGRPresident,.

The meeting was held to be a briefing of Mr.President by Governor El-Rufai on the security situation in Kaduna State.

4. Akpabio petitions INEC after losing senatorial seat to PDP in Akwa Ibom

Godswill Akpabio has petitioned the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Akwa Ibom State over the results of the elections in the Akwa Ibom North-West District.

Naija News learnt that the petition comes after clear indication Senator Akpabio has been defeated in the race for Akwa Ibom North Senatorial District.

5. PDP’s Buba Galadima still missing

The whereabouts of the tough-talking critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, Buba Galadima, still remain unknown.

Checks from the Department of State Services (DSS), the Police and military intelligence indicate that Alhaji Galadima is not held by any of the mentioned security agencies since his abduction by hooded operatives on Sunday, a day after the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

6. Many killed as gunmen attack Kaduna State again

Several people have been reportedly killed as gunmen launched a fresh attack on Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state.

Reports gathered by this online medium said most of the people affected are from Karmai village in Maro ward of the local government area.

7. Tinubu reacts to PDP’s rejection of results

The former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, has called out those who are rejecting the results from the Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress stated that those who rejected the results are not democrats.

8. Saraki concedes defeat in senatorial race, congratulates winners

Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has stated that in spite of the reported inadequacies that attended last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections in Kwara State, he is wishing the candidates who emerged from the election the best of luck.

Dr. Saraki in a statement signed by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Yusuph Olaniyonu and made available to Naija News on Tuesday, stated that while the election was generally peaceful there are inadequacies like the card readers not used in over 70 percent of the polling units while there were multiple voting, over-voting and other discrepancies that were reported by agents of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) across the state.

 9. CUPP rejects election results, demand for travel ban on INEC, APC leaders

The results of the Saturday’s Presidential election which is been collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission has been rejected by the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP.

The spokesman of CUPP, Imo Ugochinyere, in his statement on Monday evening claimed that there was evidence of rigging across Nigeria.

10. Senate joins House Of Rep, adjourns sitting till March 12

Just as the House of representative, the Senate has adjourned sitting till Tuesday, 12th of March over lack of quorum and the upcoming governorship elections.

The House of Representatives had earlier today adjourned its sitting till the same date over a lack of quorum, Naija News reports.
