1. INEC confirms killing of staff in Rivers state

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Mahmoud Yakubu has revealed that one of the ad hoc staff of the commission was killed at a polling station in Rivers state on Saturday.

Naija News understands that he disclosed this while addressing reporters at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, on Sunday.

2. Nigeria Decides: fire burns INEC office in Osun

A section of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Office in Ijebu-Ijesha Oriade Local Government, in Osun has been gutted by fire.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday.

3. APC wants Buba Galadima arrested

The immediate arrest of Buba Galadima, chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been called for over alleged plots by him to Atiku Abubakar, PDP presidential candidate, as the winner of the presidential election.

The call was made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, after claiming that Galadima had recorded a short video to this effect while acting on behalf of the PDP as its campaign spokesman.

4. INEC postpones announcement of election results

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the announcement of the results of the presidential election till 11 am on Monday.

Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the commission, made the announcement on Sunday after declaring the collation center open.

5. EFCC operatives storm INEC collation centre in Lagos

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have surfaced at the Lagos State Collation Centre for the Presidential Election.

Naija News reports that the operatives of the anti-graft agency stormed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters office in Yaba, Lagos state.

6. Hoodlums ambush, kill Army troops during election

Seven people have been killed after some hoodlums in the Abonnema, Akuku Toru Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State, laid siege against the troops of the Nigerian Army.

Naija News reports that the deaths were recorded after the hoodlums engaged the operatives of the Nigerian Army in a gun battle in the area on Saturday.

7. APC’s Osinbajo loses polling unit to Atiku’s PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, has won at polling unit–code 33, unit 2, Victoria Garden City(VGC), Lagos, where Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s Vice-President cast his ballot.

Naija News understands that the Opposition party whose Presidential candidate is Atiku Abubakar, did not only will the presidential poll but the national assembly as well.

8. Atiku records zero vote in Oshiomhole’s polling unit

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole took the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar to the cleaners in Saturday’s election in Edo state.

Oshiomhole delivered his polling unit to the APC as PDP and Atiku failed to secure a single vote in Oshiomhole’s polling unit in the state for the presidential race.

9. Fela Durotoye reveals expectations from presidential polls

The presidential candidate of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Fela Durotoye, has spoken on his victory in the ongoing presidential election across the country.

Fela Durotoye said he is very confident that he will emerge victorious by the time the result of Saturday’s presidential election is announced.

10. Leicester City Sack Manager Claude Puel

Leicester City have sacked manager Claude Puel after 16 months in charge.

City were beaten 4-1 at home by Crystal Palace on Saturday in what proved to be Puel’s final game.
