President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja after participating in Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday.

Upon arrival in Abuja from Katsina, Buhari said that he will wait for the formal results to be declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission instead of relying on rumours on the outcome of the elections.

“I don’t want to depend on rumours, but we will rather wait for INEC to announce the results”, he told the Nigerian Television Authority in Abuja

Speaking further, he said, “Well, l hope that Nigerians will appreciate that it was this government which made sure that they were allowed in security and peace to cast their votes for whichever party and candidates they wanted.”

Naija News reports that the official collation and announcement of results by INEC is currently going on in Abuja as at press time.
