The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Anambra South Senatorial zone, Chris Uba has defeated his elder brother, Senator Andy Uba in his own polling unit.

A source told Daily Post that Senator Andy Uba who voted at Salvation Army polling unit, Uba ward 1 lost to his younger brother’s party, PDP with 115 to 4 votes.

Meanwhile, the younger Uba has expressed his frustration about his inability to vote during the election at his otiogbata hall polling unit because of problems arising from card readers.

His media aide, Patience Chisom Ukachukwu said, “The PDP candidate for Anambra South Senatorial District has not been able to exercise his Civic right.

“At about 12:00 pm today, he went to his polling unit to carry out his franchise as a citizen but was told the card readers were not working, he left and returned at exactly 1:24 pm, the same story was told to him again. When he asked to exercise his civic right manually, they declined.

“He is uncomfortable with the situation and insists that something be done immediately to salvage the situation. He wants the world to know he is unable to vote and he smells sabotage somewhere.

“He still believes in the credible Election promised by INEC and is hopeful the whole process will turn out well.”

It was gathered from a source that the election was later canceled after attempts to bring fresh card readers from Ekwulobia, a short distance from Uga failed and that a new date would be announced for the election.
