#NigeriaDecides: Police Advise Aggrieved Politicians To Seek Redress In Court

Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, the Oyo State Police Command has called aggrieved party or parties to seek redress in court over any issue that may arise during and after the elections.

The Oyo State chapter of Police stated this in a statement released by its Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Fadeyi.

The PPRO called on politicians and residents of the state to stay away from any acts that may cause a breach of peace or ignite violence during elections and after elections.

He assured the people of the state that the command is reviewing the threats and challenges to the elections in the state.

He called on the people of the state to have confidence in the police and other security agencies in the state.

Fadeyi advised Nigerians to cast their votes without fear during the Presidential and National Assembly elections fixed for February 23 and the governorship and State House of Assembly slated for March 9.

“The State Commissioner of Police, Shina Olukolu, wishes to assure of a hitch-free voting exercise on Saturday.

“The Oyo State Police Command wishes to reiterate the need for all and sundry to refrain from engaging in any acts that may cause a breach of peace before, during and after the election.

“Any aggrieved party or parties on any issues are advised to seek redress in a court of law”.
