Melaye Tackles Buhari Ahead of General Elections

A Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria has in his reaction to President Muhammadu Buhari’s comment about ballot box snatching, urged the President to revisit London, United Kingdom, for a medical checkup.

Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West senatorial district in the National Assembly, made the call on Tuesday while featuring on a TV political discussion programme.

Recall as previously reported by Naija News, Buhari had while speaking during the APC caucus meeting on Monday, threatened that those who plan to snatch ballot boxes during the 2019 elections will pay with their lives.

However, Melaye expressed disappointment that such a statement is coming from the President of the country.

According to him, “That statement from Mr President is a serious confirmation that Mr President has to visit London again because it is not expected from any rationally thinking, intellectually mobile leader.”

When cautioned by the Channels TV anchor over his choice of words, the Senator replied that “I am not being insolent at all.”

Naija News reports that the political discussion programme also featured the Director, Strategic Communication of Buhari re-election campaign, Festus Keyamo (SAN).
