The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commenced its special National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

Naija News reports that the meeting commenced at about 2:pm, Nigerian time in the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The meeting is being presided over by the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus.

The meeting had in attendance the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar among other political stewards in the party.

Reports obtained by Naija News revealed that the meeting is scheduled to hold today to review the postponement of the presidential and National Assembly elections from last Saturday to February 23.

As at the time of filing this report, the outcome of the NEC meeting is still unknown although Naija News is working towards achieving that.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had in the eve of the scheduled 2019 general elected dated for Saturday, February 16, postponed the elections to February 23.

The electoral umpire had stated that the inability of it sensitive materials was the main cause while the election was postponed.

Atiku Abubakar is expected to defeat the incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari and other presidential hopefuls who would also jostle for the same presidential seat before he could be announced as Nigeria’s next president.
