DSS Invites INEC Officials
He had been asked to report to DSS office in Abuja at 2pm today.
This is coming after President Muhammadu Buhari was last reported having an emergency security meeting with service chiefs, some Ministers and governors of selected states.
In attendance at the meeting are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Interior Minister, Abdulrahman Dambazau and Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammad Adamu, among others, Naija News reports
Also invited by the DSS were Chidi Nwafor, the director of ICT; Ken Ukeagu, director of procurement; Osaze Uzzi, director of voter education and publicity; and Bimbo Oladunjoye, the assistant director of ICT.
This invitation was initially believed to be related to the fiasco that led to the postponement of the general election by one week.
Recall that INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu had cited sabotage and logistical issues as explanation for the sudden postponement.
However, security sources informed TheCable that the invitation had to do with a tape circulation in which a south-south governor allegedly made statements that suggested some INEC officials were working for him.
