1. INEC Postpones 2019 Elections, Cites Reasons (Video)

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigeria’s electoral umpire, has shifted the 2019 Presidential and National Assembly elections till February 23. Naija News reports that the Commission also postponed the governorship and state assembly elections, it will now hold on March 9.

2. Exclusive: Election Duty Corpers Abandoned In Ogun, INEC Officials Accused (Video)

Some members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on election duty were on Friday night abandoned at Remo North in Ogun State, southwest Nigeria, Naija News can report. Naija News learned that the corpers that were stranded were said to have been transferred from Abeokuta South to Remo North.

The Presidential and the National Assembly elections scheduled for February 16, 2019, has been shifted by the Independent National Electoral Commission till February 23. Naija News also reported that the governorship and state assembly elections will now hold on March 9.

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone the 2019 Presidential and National Assembly elections earlier scheduled to hold today. He urged Nigerians to remain calm and come out to vote on Saturday, 23 February and Saturday, 9 March respectively.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on the eve of the presidential and national assembly elections postponed the elections scheduled to take place on February 16th. The Chairman of the commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu in his statement stated that the Presidential/National Assembly has been postponed to Saturday, February 23, 2019, while the Gubernatorial/House of Assembly Elections shifted to Saturday, March 9, 2019.

7. 66 People Killed In Kaduna On Presidential Election Eve

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state on Friday confirmed the killing of 66 persons in Kajuru Local Government Area by unknown gunmen on the eve of the presidential election. Among the victims were 22 children and 12 women, while four wounded persons were rescued alive.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on the eve of the Presidential and National Assembly elections, postponed the elections till February 23. A new videotape allegedly showing R. Kelly sexually assaulting an underage girl has been confirmed by CNN and Jim DeRogatis. According to the reports revealed, the girl in the alleged video “refers to her body parts as 14 years old.” A senior law enforcement official told DeRogatis that the videotape “may soon lead to [Kelly’s] indictment in Illinois.” In addition, according to DeRogatis, “a law enforcement official said that an indictment is pending and Kelly could be arrested soon.”
