NigeriaDecides: Ezekwesili Reacts To Election Postponement, NYSC Abandonment
The postponement of the presidential and governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission has been condemned by the Co-convener of the #BringBackOurGirls Movement and former presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, Oby Ezekwesili.
Naija News had reported that the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu on the eve of the presidential election had announced the shift in the presidential and governorship election.
The commission chairman in his statement had claimed that the postponement is based on logistic and operational problems.
Ezekwesili in her reaction she lamented about the cost and consequences of the development on Nigerians, especially those who travelled to other states for the election.
She also reacted to the pictures of NYSC members trending on social media showing them being abandoned by INEC at the polling units.
She took to her Twitter account and wrote; “The human cost of our not getting things right is what gets to me the most.
“Families with so little income incurring costs either to go vote or for safety.
“Pictures of our Youth Corp members in the undignified state of being.Visitors from abroad shaking their heads at us.”

Hmmm.
The human cost of our not getting things right is what gets to me the most.
Families with so little income incurring costs either to go vote or for safety.
Pictures of our Youth Corp members in undignified state of being.
Visitors from abroad shaking their heads @ us.
