1. I did not ask INEC to post-pone Zamfara State elections – AGF Malami

Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation, has explained that he is not asking the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC to Post-pone the Zamfara State elections.

The AGF had been under fire since he wrote a letter to INEC suggesting that the elections in Zamfara State should be postponed, Naija News reports.

2. Hoodlums in military uniform attack INEC vehicles in Benue state

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Benue State has said some unidentified hoodlums who disguised in their military uniforms attacked the commission’s vehicle.

The INEC State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Nentawe Yilwatda, disclosed this in a statement obtained by Naija News when he was addressing journalists on the preparation for Saturday’s election.

3. Biafra: finally, Nnamdi Kanu exposes ‘Jubril’ on Valentine’s day

The leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has finally given a “definitive expository presentation” on Jubril Aminu Al-Sudanni, an alleged impostor of President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock, the nation’s Presidential Villa.

Naija News reports that Kanu gave the “definitive expository presentation” on Jubril via a live broadcast on Radio Biafra in London, the United Kingdom where he relocated to from Israel.

4. Tinubu speaks on defection after he was spotted with PDP chieftains in Lagos

Spokesperson to the national leader of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has narrated how some PDP supporters, led by the former spokesperson of Department of State Services, Marilyn Ogar, cornered the former Lagos governor at the Airport and begged him for a selfie which is now being used for blackmail by the opposition party.

According to Mr. Tunde Rahman, Tinubu’s picture with the PDP women leaders has gone viral and is now being used by PDP social media ‘warriors’ to indicate that the national leader of APC may be thinking of dumping his party ahead of Saturday’s presidential election.

5. It is not your duty to order postponement of Zamfara election, Agbakoba fires AGF Malami

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Olisa Agbakoba has submitted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is a neutral body which cannot take orders from the federal government.

Agbakoba made the submission in reaction to the letter purportedly written by Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation, in which he told INEC to postpone elections in Zamfara state because the case is in court.

6. Rivers state INEC headquarters blocked by Police

Operatives of the Nigerian Police Force on Thursday morning blocked the entrance to the Rivers State headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Port Harcourt.

Naija News gathered the policemen also mounted a roadblock on the street close to the commission.

7. President Buhari addresses Nigerians ahead of Saturday’s election

In choosing their preferred candidates during the elections, President Muhammdu Buhari has asked Nigerians to see if opposition parties will do anything better than his administration is doing.

While pledging a free and fair election and a secured enviroment, he urged youths not to ‘allow yourselves to be used to cause violence and destruction’.

8. Suspended CJN Onnoghen asks appeal court to stop his arrest

The suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Samuel Onnoghen, has asked the Appeal Court in Abuja to stop his arrest for failureto appear before the CCT.

The suspended CJN, who faulted the Code of Conduct Tribunal’s decision to arrest him, based his argument on 11 grounds.

9. Atiku and I will be friends after February 16, says Tinubu

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has expressed confidence that President Muhammadu Buhari will emerge, winner of the Saturday presidential elections.

He added that Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party will be sent to retirement for the good of Nigeria.

10. Nigeria shuts land borders ahead of Saturday’s elections

The Nigerian government has on Thursday, shut down all the Nigerian land borders.

Naija News reports that the minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd), made the directive which is to take effect from Friday, February 15 to Sunday, Feb. 17.
