The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Anambra North Senatorial District, Margery Chuba-Okadigbo, has been sacked by the Federal High Court.

At the hearing, the presiding judge, Justice I. B. Gafai, thereafter, pronounced Nelson Onubogu as the legitimate candidate of the party.

Barr. Tochukwu Nweke, counsel to Onubogu, had argued that Okadigbo was nominated wrongly by the APC because she did not contest the election.

Nweke further argued that Onubogu who was the only aspirant at the primary election must be declared the candidate.

Consequently, all documents presented by Senator Okadigbo and the APC were rejected by the court.

Naija News had earlier reported that the APC governorship candidate in Cross River State, Senator John Owan-Enoh and other candidates of the party currently recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission, were on February 11, sacked by a Federal High Court sitting in Calabar.

In a two-hour judgment delivered by Hon Justice Simon Amobeda, he ordered that “INEC should only receive and accept the names and candidates for the 2019 elections that emerged from the lawful executive led by Godwin Etim John.”

The court also sacked the leadership of the party led by John Ochalla.

Justice Amodeba also ordered that persons parading themselves as the executive members of the APC in Cross River State should forthwith cease and that the lawful executive of APC in Cross River State is the one led by Godwin Etim John.

Also, the APC governorship candidate in Enugu State, Senator Ayogu Eze, was removed as the party’s flag bearer by an Abuja Federal High Court.
