Atiku's Wife Speaks On Nigeria's Economy, Election, Atiku's Cabinet And More...

Titi Abubakar, the wife of Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, says there is practically nothing in Nigeria because all the “investors have taken away their money”.

Naija News reports that Mrs Abubakar made this comment on Sunday, February 10, at a Town Hall meeting organized by Eko4Atiku movement which held in Obalende, Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city.

Speaking further, Mrs Abubakar said “Nigeria today is upside down,” citing a report by Brookings Institution in June 2018, which said Nigeria had taken over as the nation with the highest number of extremely poor people.

“According to our projections, Nigeria has already overtaken India as the country with the largest number of extreme poor in early 2018, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo could soon take over the number 2 spot,” the report read.

The wife of the PDP Presidential candidate said: “Nigeria today is upside down. You know they say in the whole world we are the poorest of the poorest of all the countries, can you imagine Nigeria that use to be at the top.

“All the investors have taken away their money because there is practically nothing in Nigeria,” she said.

Meanwhile, Naija News reports that Nigeria’s Presidential election is slated for February 16 with Atiku Abubakar hoping to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari who is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.
