Oyedepo’s Members Arraigned Over Alleged N38m Fraud

The Ogun state Police command has on Wednesday arraigned two members of staff of the popular Living Faith Church in Cannanland, the Ota area of the state.

Naija News found out that the Police released the names of the suspects as; Afolabi Samuel, 46, and Blessing Kolawole, 39, who were arraigned in an Ota Magistrates‘ Court in Ogun for allegedly stealing N38 million.

The police charged Samuel and Kolawole, whose addresses were not made public on a two counts charge bothering on conspiracy and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Sergeant Abdulkareem Mustapha, told the court that the accused persons committed the offence between Dec. 1 and Dec. 15, 2018 at about 10 a.m. at the Living Faith Church in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun state.

Mustapha alleged that thay conspired and stole N38 million belonging to the church, which he said contravened the provisions of sections 390(2)(6)(8b) (9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

However, the accused persos pleaded not guilty to the count charge read against them.

The preciding judge, Chief Magistrate Mathew Akinyemi granted the accussed persons bail in the sum of N2 million naira each with sureties each in like sum. The judge ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.

He adjourned the case until Feb. 20 for further hearing.
