Buhari Appoints Semiu Adeniran As New Statistician General

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari has been promised 10 million votes by the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of Joint Association of People With Disability, Prince Paul Adelabu, on Monday.

Adelabu revealed in Ibadan that persons with disabilities across Nigeria will cast their votes for President Buhari on Saturday.

He stated this while speaking at a delegate conference organised by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) 2019 Southwest Zonal Presidential Campaign Council for Buhari/Osinbajo support groups in the region.

At the summit tagged “2019 elections summit” held at the ancient Mapo Hall were the Minister of Health, Professor Issac Adewole, Director General of Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation (South West), Chief Olusola Oke, Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State who was represented by his Executive Assistant (Political Matters), Dr. Morounkola Thomas, APC Zonal Sectary (South West), Mr Ayo Afolabi, members of fifty-four different Buhari/Osinbajo support groups and other APC leaders and supporters from the six states in the region.

Recall that President Buhari had signed the persons with disability bill last month.

Adelabu while speaking on behalf of the disabled promised the President with about ten million people with disabilities, who are registered voters and have kept their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ready to vote for Buhari in appreciation of the Disability Bill that the President signed into law on January 23, 2019.

He stated that people with disabilities will forever be grateful to Buhari because the successive administrations before him refused to sign the bill.

He said, “Even people with disabilities who don’t have thumps have decided to use their toes to cast their votes for President Buhari, because of the Disability Bill.

“We have about ten million of us who have their PVCs intact. Go and check INEC’s list. The Bill is our life, we will vote massive for the President for signing the Bill.”

Adewole, while speaking, called on members of the Buhari/Osinbajo support groups to go from unit to unit and educate the electorate on how to vote correctly in order to avoid what happened during last year’s governorship election in Osun state in which about 47,000 votes were voided.

While appealing to the people of the region not to waste Buhari’s votes by not voting correctly, Adewole advised that “The index finger should be used to thumbprint and wait for about one to two minutes for the ink to dry before you fold the ballot paper and put it inside ballot box”.
