Oshiomhole Defends Buhari, Says Some People Just Decide To Be Toxic To Government

APC Confident Of Participating In Zamfara Elections

The ruling All Progressives Congress has certainly not given up on the possibility of fielding candidates for the 2019 elections in Zamfara State.

Speaking in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital on Sunday, President Muhammadu Buhari gave assurances that the crisis surrounding the candidates of the APC in the state will be resolved before the scheduled elections.

He made this known while addressing party faithful and supporters during the presidential campaign rally in the state.

Naija News recalls the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier banned Zamfara APC from fielding candidates for the governorship as well as national and state assembly elections in 2019.

The President in his speech also added that his administration remains committed to securing the nation, improving the economy and fighting corruption.

On his part, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the party will not just lie down and allow PDP get Zamfara State for free.

“The votes in Zamfara State are ours and INEC can’t change what is ordained by God. PDP stole our commonwealth. They sold NITEL and said they would sell other national assets to enrich their cronies but Nigerians will stop them,” he said.

Similarly, Abdulaziz Yari, Governor of Zamfara State, said APC in the state would survive all challenges and come out stronger.

He said: Mr. President, we will not force you to present our candidates today, because the issue is yet to be permanently resolved; we approached the court and we got the judgement in our favour.”
