2019 Election: NBA Threatens To Drag Zamfara Governor Before ICC

The Zamfara State chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has threatened to drag Governor Abdulaziz Yari before the International Criminal Court (ICC) if he continues to suggest disruption of the forthcoming election.

Naija News recalls that Yari had vowed to disrupt the election, should in case his party was excluded by INEC to partake in the 2019 election.

Speaking to newsmen, the Zamfara NBA Chairman, Bello Galadi, said the governor’s threat to disrupt the election if his party is excluded from the general election was condemnable.

Galadi added, “As ambassadors of rule of law, we implore, the executive Governor to be calm and humble in dealing with the issue and invoke the path of rule of law, rather than self-help.”

He also cautioned the Governor against unnecessary and unjustifiable spending of public funds in the pursuit of his personal political enterprise at the expense of the downtrodden.
