1. Northern Elders Endorse Buhari, Give Reasons

Some Northern Elders under the aegis of Kungiyar Dattawan Arewa Initiative (KDAI) has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari’s reelection bid. Naija News reports that the group endorsed Buhari, who is the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday, February 9.

2. Biafra: Why Atiku Should Not Contest 2019 Presidency – Nnamdi Kanu

The leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, says the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, Atiku Abubakar is not a Nigerian, hence should not contest the forthcoming presidential election in the country. Naija News reports that Kanu made this statement during a live broadcast via Radio Biafra in London, United Kingdom on Saturday, February 9.

3. Tinubu Calls Obasanjo Election Rigger For The Second Time At APC Presidential Rally In Lagos

National Leader of the APC, Chief Bola Tinubu, on Saturday, charged prospective voters to cast their ballot for the APC in the forthcoming election. Tinubu, addressing the mammoth crowd of supporters at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, venue of the party’s Presidential campaign, said that the opposition in 16 years failed to put Nigeria on a pedestal of growth despite enormous resources. He said the Buhari administration had done a lot with meager funds and resources just in four years.

4. Buhari Allegedly Cancels PDP Campaign

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), on Friday, stood down its Presidential campaign dated for Saturday, February 9 at the Old parade ground in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. Naija News reports that the opposition party in a statement issued and signed by the National Publicity Secretary and director, media and publicity, PDP presidential campaign organization, Kola Ologbondiyan, blamed its decision on not to hold the rally on the federal government’s refusal to grant the party the facility for use.

5. River States Governor, Nyesom Wike Threatens APC Members With A Machete

The River States Governor, Nyesom Wike, threatens to cut down all member of main opposition party APC in the state with a machete. Naija News learnt the governor was seen with a cutlass during an event within the state stating that there is no other political party in the state except the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Speaking during the PDP Campaign Rally at Emohua Local Government Area on Friday, he said Rivers State cannot be abducted by business politicians who lack the capacity to administer an association.

6. See What President Buhari Said At His Presidential Rally In Lagos

President Muhammadu Buhari said it was his government’s duty to imprison those who corruptly enriched themselves with the country’s wealth. Naija news learnt the president the President said on Saturday at the presidential rally of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos that if re-elected, he would continue to focus on the promises he made in 2015.

7. EFCC Declares War On Popular University, LAUTECH

Reports Reaching Naija News suggest that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared ‘war’ on the students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH). Naija News reports that the move by the anti-graft agency is to curb the high rate of cybercrimes alleged in the institution.

8. Reno Omokri Questions Tinubu Over Attack On Obasanjo

Former Presidential New Media aide Reno Omokri has asked the former Lagos state Governors to tell Nigerian What He has done to beat the record and achievement of former president of country Cheif Olusegun Obasanjo. In reaction, Reno Omokri on his Twitter handle said Has @MBuhari, who you are insulting Obasanjo for, insulted any Northern? Buhari won’t insult a Northerner because of a Tinubu. Yet, you insult Obj, your brother. Afonja did it before you, hoping that Alimi will make him king. Where did he end up?

9. EPL: See English Premier League Table

Liverpool beat Bournemouth 3-0 at Anfield to move top of the English Premier League, three points ahead of Manchester City and with one outstanding fixture. Arsenal battled to a 2-1 away win over bottom club Huddersfield on Saturday.
