A magistrate court sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital has ordered that five accused persons brought before it in connection with the January 13 attack on Agbaji, the Ilorin family residence of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki be remanded in the Federal prison custody, Ilorin.

Naija News reports that the five accused persons are; Omotosho Alawo, Ibrahim Shittu, Usman Ayilara Gobir, Ahmed Shina and Olashehu Ndarabi.

These persons were alleged to have been involved in the political mayhem on Agbaji and Ode Alfa Nda communities.

They were said to have caused mayhem during an electioneering campaign in the metropolis.

According to the state Police, the suspects engaged themselves in a battle during which at least four persons were injured severely.

Those injured during the fracas are; Yusuf Babatunde, Ibrahim Taofeeq, Adisa Muritala, Hussein Hassan.

The police further alleged that the clash also led to the destruction of several vehicles parked within the areas by innocent citizens while buildings were also damaged.

The statement from the police added that efforts of the operatives of the Criminal Intelligence and Investigating Department (CIID), Police headquarters, in Ilorin led to the arrest of the accused persons.

It stated that the accused persons had confessed to having actively participated in the fracas with others who are presently at large.
