See How INEC Officials Allegedly Sabotaged The Process Of Permanent Voter Cards Collection

As the deadline for collection of Permanent Voter Cards(PVC) draws closer,  many registered voters in various part of the country have lamented their inability to collect the cards, Naija News Understands.

Some of the voters who expressed their disappointment at  Independent National Electoral Commission through their social media platform twitter berated the electoral body for their lackadaisical attitude towards the exercise. It will be recalled that INEC has fixed Feb. 8 as the deadline for the collection of PVCs ahead of the general elections.

Yes, @inecnigeria Nigerians have visited most of your offices in their LGA and brought series of complains how their PVC cannot be found, how your workers take launch break and return with closing remarks "come tomorrow". This is totally unfair,knowing that our vote has to count.

ON MY WAY TO OSISIOMA L.G.A ABA TO COLLECT MY PERMANENT VOTERS CARD (PVC).I WENT THERE(INEC OFFICE) YESTERDAY TO CHECK FOR MY PVC AND WAS ASKED TO COME BACK THIS MORNING.I WASN'T COMFORTABLE WITH A STAFF WHO SUDDENLY SHOWED UP AND SAID HE KNEW ME.

Mr. Chidi Okere, a civil servant, who registered in July 2018, said he was told to come back on Friday because his PVC was not yet ready. “I am disappointed and I feel sad that I may not be able to participate in the forthcoming general elections,’’ Okere said.

This demand is predicated on reports across the nation that some compromised @inecnigeria officials at the collection centers are deliberately refusing to issue the PVCs to voters thereby frustrating millions of registered voters from getting their voters cards.

Mr Micheal Oluwaseun, another registered voter who was at the INEC office said, “last week I was here to collect my PVC but I was told to come back today. It is still the same story that my card is not ready and the deadline for collection is Friday.“This means that it is not all of us that registered that would be able to vote. This is very bad.

“I wanted to vote but now that my PVC is not available it means I cannot vote,’’ Oluwaseun said.

I've been visiting @inecnigeria office since last year. 5 time this year but they keep telling me it's not ready. I hear they're not giving to Igbos in Lagos.

Mr. Victor Musa also said that he applied for transfer of his voter card from Kogi to FCT since June 2018, yet his card was not ready for collection.“Since I will not be able to travel down to Kogi during elections, I applied for the transfer of my card to the FCT.”This is my fifth time of coming here. As I am now, I am even tired. I have dashed them the PVC. I am not coming back again. Let them do whatever they want with the card.“I have missed work for almost five times just to get PVC, yet I cannot get it. I am not interested again,” Musa said.

While they're handing fraudulently registered PVCs to traditional and religious leaders down north, they are making it increasingly difficult for genuine voters down south to get their PVCs.

@inecnigeria My hubby has been going to Ikeja local govt every three days to ask for his PVC. He was still there told today that it has not been dispatched. But on the website it says it is ready for collection.

There is credible information they are holding the PVCs intentionally at those points where it should be shared @inecnigeria pls look into it! I know people who were told it's not ready but eventually found it in a party member's possession! Pls do something!

The most terrifying part is people claiming that unknown persons were handed their PVCs, whereas INEC officials claimed those PVCs were not ready.
