Ambode Presents 2019 Budget Proposal To Lagos Lawmakers

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state has presented a 2019 budget proposal of N852.316b before lawmakers at the state House of Assembly.

A breakdown of the budget presentation shows a recurrent expenditure of 385.6billion, Capital expenditure of 462.7billion and a capital recurrent ratio of 54-46.

Recall Naija News had earlier reported Governor Ambode will present the 2019 budget of Lagos State to the House of Assembly on Tuesday (today).

Before this development, recall the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, had met with the governor, party leaders and members of the State Assembly on Sunday, where the conflict between the governor and the lawmakers was resolved at a special Governor’s Advisory Committee (GAC) meeting held in Marina, Lagos.

Lawmakers had previously threatened to impeach Ambode for alleged gross misconduct, including spending before the 2019 budget approval.

However, speaking during the budget presentation on Tuesday, Ambode said the budget is projected to consolidate on the gains made so far in the state. He added that the budget is targeted to cater to the needs of the entire residents of the state.
