I’m proud of our partnership- Buhari Commends Osinbajo Over Helicopter Crash

President Mohammadu Buhari has joined the league of other Nigerians to thank God for the survival of the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo after the helicopter crash of Saturday, February 2.

Buhari on Sunday, February 3, praised “the tenacious spirit of Vice President Osinbajo,” for surviving the crash in Kabba, Kogi state and for proceeding with his engagements despite the crash.

In a statement issued by the President’s spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Sunday, Buhari stated this while reacting to the crash via a telephone conversation with the vice president.

In the statement, Buhari said; “We give glory to Almighty God for sparing your life. I’m impressed by your tenacious spirit which enabled you to continue on your campaign engagement, despite the shock of the crash.

“It takes tenacious spirit and amazing spiritual strength to survive a helicopter crash without being paralyzed by its impact.

Buhari expressed the fact that he is proud of having a personality like Osinbajo as his vice. He expressed pride in his partnership with the vice president and prayed that God grant him and those on-board, good health to serve the country even more

“I’m proud of our partnership and your unalloyed loyalty and your commitment to the service of Nigeria.

“That you proceeded with your engagements, despite the accident, is a testimony of your passion for service to country and a reflection of your admirable spiritual fervour.

“May God continue to protect you and all those on board with you, bless your lives and grant you more good health and long life to serve our country even more.,” the statement read.

Naija News reported that the vice-president and nine others had on Saturday escaped unhurt when a hired helicopter belonging, and operated by Caverton helicopters, conveying them to Kabba, Kogi state, crash-landed.

Minutes after the crash, the vice-president started receiving solidarity messages from well-meaning Nigerians within and outside the country.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force in its solidarity message to the vice president debunked piloting or have any connection to do with the crashed helicopter
