1. VP Osinbajo’s Chopper Crashes In Kogi

The chopper carrying Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s Vice President and members of his team crash-landed in Kabba, Kogi state, north-central Nigeria. Naija News reports that the senior special assistant to the vice-president on media and publicity, Laolu Akande, made this known on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Saturday afternoon.

2. Osinbajo Speaks After Surviving Plane Crash

Following the crash landing of his chopper, at Kabba, Kogi state, Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has allayed fears of Nigerians. Osinbajo who has been on a campaign tour across the country, along with President Muhammadu Buhari said he would continue with the campaign in the state.

3. What Ooni Of Ife Told YPP’s Moghalu To Do Ahead Of Presidential Election

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has asked the presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Kingsley Moghalu to “fire on”. Naija News reports that Jide Akintunde, the spokesman of YPP presidential campaign council, quoted Ooni to have said this when he received Moghalu at his palace in Ile-Ife, Osun state, southwest Nigeria on Friday.

4. Elections: What Obasanjo Told APC, ADP, Others In Ogun State

As the elections draw near, Ex-president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has met leaders of top political parties and security chiefs in Ogun State asking them to avoid any form of violence. Obasanjo held a closed-door meeting with some political parties’ leaders for more than two hours at Owu Hall inside Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

5. Buhari Launches New Oil Drilling Well In Gongola Basin

President Muhammadu Buhari has launched the spud-in of Kolmani River-II Well in the Gongola Basin, located on the Upper Benue Trough hence the drilling operations and the opening of new vistas for the oil industry in Nigeria is about to begin. Following a series of studies and seismic data gathering activities in the Gongola Basin area by NNPC which has shown prospects of hydrocarbon presence, with the flag off, all is now set for drilling operations which will confirm the presence and volumes of oil and gas.

6. Why Two Foreign Governors Graced Buhari’s Campaign In Kano State -Lai Mohammed

Amidst the controversy surrounding the presence of a large crowd at President Muhammadu Buhari‘s campaign in Kano State, the minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed has said that the integrity of the President influenced the turnout of supporters. Naija News reports that the series of reactions that greeted this occurrence were mostly negative, especially as two governors from the Niger Republic were at the campaign rally to receive President Buhari.

7. Owner Investigates Why Plane Carrying Osinbajo Crashed

After the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his team escaped being hurt when their plane crashed in Kabba in Kogi state, an investigation has commenced on the cause of the accident. According to Caverton Helicopters, owners of the aircraft, the accident was caused by weather conditions.

8. Amaechi Exposes Osinbajo’s Plan For Rail Project

The minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has revealed the plans of the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo for the Lagos-Ibadan rail project. Amaechi revealed that Osinbajo would test-run the ongoing construction of the Lagos-Ibadan Gauge railway on Wednesday, February 6.

9. Fela’s Son Seun Kuti To Perform At 2019 Grammy Awards

Seun Kuti, the son of late Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti, is billed to perform at the 61st Grammy Awards scheduled to hold in few day time. Naija News reports that the Nigerian music star, who was nominated for Best World Music Album will perform with Malian singer/songwriter, Fatoumata Diawara, at the award’s Premiere Ceremony on February 10.

10. EPL: See Premier League Table After Chelsea Trash Huddersfield 5-0

Chelsea on Saturday defeated rock bottom Huddersfield 5-0 to climb back into the UEFA Champions League place. However, Arsenal still has a chance of reclaiming their spot only if they are able to navigate through Manchester City with a higher goal margin.
