We Are Not After Northerners, IPOB Tells Gumi

The leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, will address “Biafrans” on a live broadcast via Radio Biafra from his base in the United Kingdom today by 6 pm (Nigerian time).

Naija News reports that Kanu, who made this known in a tweet on Friday, noted that the broadcast will be his first from Radio Biafra London studio in four years.

In the tweet, the IPOB leader reiterated that members of his group and all “Biafrans” will boycott this month’s Presidential election in Nigeria, noting that Biafra referendum will hold same day with the Nigerian election.

Kanu also called on IPOB members and all “Biafrans” to sit at home and be counted on the said day of the referendum for the Republic of Biafra.

The secessionist leader tweeted: “Join me on Radio Biafra Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 6 PM Biafraland time.

“It’s going to be my first broadcast from our London studio in 4 four years. Biafra Referendum is on February 16, 2019. Sit-at-home and be counted,” the tweet added.

Naija News reports that Kanu is leading a group seeking secession from Nigeria. The group has since been proscribed by the Nigerian government.
