Gunmen Shot Dead Assembly Leader, EFCC, Injure Others

The Leader of the Ahoada West legislative Assembly in Rivers State, Ekele Chikobi, have been shot dead by some unknown gunmen in Rivers state.

Ekele, popularly known as “EFCC” was attacked and shot dead along the Ahole-Emohua axis of the East West road of Rivers state while he was travelling in the convoy of the lawmaker representing Ahoada West Constituency in the Rivers House of Assembly, Augustine Wanaka Okpokori.

Ekele was travelling alongside others who were also being transported in the convoy when the unknown gunmen accosted the convoy and opened fire on them, killing “EFCC” and leaving several others injured with bullet wounds.

As at the time of filing this report, the Rivers state police command is yet to confirm the incident.

Meanwhile, the state government has called on the Inspector General of Police, the DSS department to bring to justice the killers of the Ahoada West LG Legislative Assembly, Ekele.

This is coming after Naija News had reported that the Rivers state Police command recently confirmed the arrest of an officer who shot a passenger in the leg.
