According to Vanguard, the ASP was reported attached to the Ashaka police divisional headquarters.

The report revealed that he led a team of police officers in search of the herdsmen who had been terrorizing the area with kidnapping activities when he was killed.

The incident was confirmed by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Andrew Aniamaka.
