The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Peter Obi, participated in a live televised presidential town-hall programme tagged “The Candidates“ on Wednesday.

Naija News reports that “The Candidates” is designed by the organisers to have both the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Candidates of selected political parties on stage at the same time and at different dates to take questions from the moderator, Kadaria Ahmed and from the general public through various platforms.

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari‘s visit to Aba, the commercial city of Abia State, southern Nigeria.

The Candidates: Peter Obi Speaks On Deporting Beggars To Akwa Ibom

The Vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, says he did not deport beggars to Akwa Ibom State during his time as Anambra state as alleged in some quarters.

Rather, Obi said it was Lagos State Government that deported beggars to their various states of origin, and that he did not engage in retaliatory action to that effect.

Why Aggrieved Party Members Should Not Vote Against APC – Gov. Shettima

The governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, has called on aggrieved members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) who are not happy with his government to be loyal to the party and not meddle in anti-party activities during the coming elections.

Following the recent party primaries, many members of the APC in the state, especially those that aspired for different positions, accused the governor and party leaders of forcing them to step down for most of the incumbent officeholders. While those that went into the primaries said the party leadership didn’t give them a fair contest.
